Stainless and standard steel bearings are available.
Extreme High Temperature Application
Extreme temperature formulation and processing of
Cobra Solid Lubricants is available for applications with
continuous operating temperatures between 450°F and
660°F. This special formulation is ideal for use in
furnaces, conveyor ovens, kilns, hot air blowers, flue
dampers, etc. Specify standard steel bearings for
maximum load and speed where corrosion is not an issue.
Designation: 204-12-T (ss) or 204-12F-T (steel).
High Temperature Application
High temperature formulation and processing of Cobra
Solid Lubricants are capable of continuous operating
temperatures between 250°F and 450°F on high tension
or high speed shafts. The lubricant will not drip or fling
and area contamination due to leakage is eliminated.
Designation: 204-12-M (ss) or 204-12F-M (steel).
Normal Temperature Application
When operations require low friction or free-spinning
bearings in a dirty or dusty location.
Designation: 204-12-W.
Very Low Temperature Application
Bearings involving high speed or high tension maintain
constant low starting torque even with temperatures in
the cryogenic range with Cobra Solid Lubricants. The
efficiency achieved results in longer motor life plus
energy cost savings: 205-16-B (ss).
Submerged applications
Cobra Solid Lubricants are not soluble in most common
solvents, acids, or alkalis. They are the ideal lubricants
for bearings used in pumps that would wash a
conventional lubricant out. Chemical or steam cleaning
involving high speed or high tension can be
accommodated with Cobra bearings. (Cobra bearings
are better in fully submerged locations than those that
are intermittently wet and dry.)
Limited Accessibility
Cobra Solid Lubricants are the perfect choice for
locations where ball bearings are required but
relubrication is difficult.
Cautions
Cobra Solid Lubricants are not recommended for
high impact applications. Vibration or moderate impact
will normally not affect the lubricant.
Cobra Solid Lubricants are not rust inhibitors.
Normal care should always be taken to protect bearings
in corrosive applications.
